Doctor Who meets Frankenstein! Directed to the planet Karn by the Time Lords, the Doctor and Sarah Jane find themselves battling an ancient Time Lord mind in a Frankenstein's body of alien parts. This story is classic horror through and through. Philip Maddoc is par excellence as the mad scientist Solon trying to rebuild and revive cult leader Morbius. And Morbius, for being a disembodied voice/ brain stem for most of the story is quite frightening. But in my opinion, the best part of the whole story is the Sisterhood of Karn. Sacred fire! Sacred flame! The chanting. The dancing. The flowing gowns. Burning people at the stake. Classic! One fanatical cult against another. Love it! And let's not start talking about all those faces on the screen.
