There are two Doctors. Amy is rude to the Ganger Doctor. The other Gangers start an uprising and begin killing off their originals. And the place is burning down in acid while the TARDIS in inaccessible. The basic point of this whole story is introducing the concept of the Gangers and Amy's attitude toward them. The reveal of the closing moments that Amy is actually a Ganger and has been since before the season premiere was a little surprising and unexpected. Though this explains the mixed pregnancy results the TARDIS was giving. While I understand the needed build up to the reveal, I think they could have done it in one episode and used the other one for more build to either the real or for finding Amy.
