Making a pit stop in Cardiff to power-up the TARDIS, the Doctor inadvertently picks up Captain Jack from Torchwood along the way. Blown through time and space to the far far future, where he finds the end of humanity un siege by the savage Futurekind. Coming to the aid of Professor Yana, the Doctor fixes their rocket ship to Utopia. But all is not as it appears, as Professor Yana stars hearing voices and asking questions about the Doctor and time travel and the Time Lords. Low and behold he pulls out a fob watch, a fob watch just like the Doctor's from 'Human Nature'. The Doctor remembers the Face of Boe's warning, You Are Not Alone.... YANA! As Professor Yana opens the fob watch, we realize the he was hiding his true identity and the he is actually...The Master! This was the most spectacular cliff hanger with Derek Jacobi regenerating into John Simm and stealing the TARDIS, stranding the Doctor, Martha and Jack in the future at the hands of the Futurekind!
