Kylie! To get over the emotional fall-out of Martha's departure, the Doctor crashes into the Star liner Titanic and hooks up with Kylie Minogue's Astrid Peth for Christmas. It's the Poseidon Adventures in space and it's wonderful. Killer angels. Cyborg midgets. And Midshipman Frame... yummy!
This is by far the biggest Christmas special ever. Bigger explosions. Bigger sets. Bigger guest stars. It's everything a Christmas special should be and more! But it's packed with emotion and heart and Astrid's sacrifice and last moments are classic tear jerkers. Simply beautiful!
