199A. (4.8) Silence in the Library

This is Steven Moffat's magnum opus prelude to his reign as Executive Director. We are introduced to Professor River Song, archeologist, here for the first time (for the Doctor). The Doctor receives a call for help on his psychic paper from River, who is from the Doctor's future and know far more about what is to come than she lets on. And here Moffat starts sewing some major seeds.

The Vashtanarada are a great monster. River's crew are nice supporting cast. And the setting of an abandon library with flesh eating shadows is creepy as hell. The cliff hanger of Donna getting sucked into the virtual world of the Library computer is nail biting!
